Jesus Cares

In some estimates, nearly 80% of families with children with special needs are unchurched. Our mission is to reach out to those families with the Gospel and with friendship by:

          1) Building meaningful relationships with families and individuals with special needs and

          2) Building connections between our new friends and the Living Hope congregation and

          3) Serving the special needs community with worship and study opportunities to nurture their faith

Interested in helping out? Give us a phone call, text message, or e-mail. Or, better yet, stop by on Sunday morning to learn about our efforts and to get involved.

What is your worship service like?

When you arrive on a Sunday morning, one of the first things that will happen is that someone will greet you and hand you a bulletin. The bulletin is the entire service printed out for you.

We often begin our services by singing a song together. Don't worry, if you are not comfortable singing with a new group of people, just listen. Throughout the service, we will sing 3-4 songs and also a psalm. All of the songs and the psalm tie in to the theme of the message for the day. There will always be 3-4 readings from the Bible. Near the middle of the worship service, we have a 15-20 minute sermon or message from the pastor, usually teaching about one of the Bible readings for the day.

Our service is liturgical in nature, meaning that there is a basic order to our service that you will see almost every Sunday. This doesn't mean that the services are all identical, it only means that there is an underlying foundation to most of our services. Why do we do this? The New Testament Christian church has been worshipping for nearly 2000 years. Parts of our service can be traced back hundreds, if not thousands, of years. By keeping some pieces of the worship service the same, we form a symbolic tie back to all the Christians who have gone before us. It is a neat reminder for us that we are not alone as Christians and that God has faithfully preserved his Church and will continue to do so.

Many things that we do a much more modern. Not everything is based on tradition. We attempt to strike a balance between the old and new, with all of it focused on building the faith of everyone in attendance.

Sunday Mornings

Our Sunday morning worship service is at 9 am. Feel free to show up right on time or 15-20 minutes beforehand. Don't hesitate to come on in if you are running a few minutes late either!

Enter through the main glass doors near the north end of the building. Our worship area is to the right as you walk in the main doors.

One thing you will quickly notice is that there is a broad spectrum on how we dress up on a Sunday morning. Whether you choose to wear shorts and flip flops or your Sunday best is up to you. No matter what you wear, you will fit in perfectly.

Our worship service lasts about one hour. We also have adult and children's Bible studies following the early service, starting around 10:15.
